How long will it take for ordinary people to live in a 3D printed building?

3D printing is now becoming commonplace, disrupting and changing more traditional industries. Recently, two 3D printed "Su - style courtyard villas" appeared in Suzhou industrial park, drawing public attention again. And whether the main body itself, or the interior decoration, is printed by a private enterprise in Shanghai via a 3D printer. It is another grand works by this enterprise after "3D printing simple office building" and "3D printing European villas".

Cornices, green tiles, curved galleries, fish ponds, flowers and trees... The typical Suzhou garden-style architecture is decorated with a slightly modern interior decoration. What is unusual is that the traditional Chinese style house built by more than a dozen artisans is from a 3D printer. A month ago, Ma Yihe, the inventor of the 3D printed building, and three workers, completed the printing, assembling and decorating of the various parts of the house in just one week.

A wall that looks like a cake is the trace of 3D print. It is understood that the wall is composed of a huge printer, successive layers of printing. The interior of the wall adopts truss structure, and the hollow part can add insulation material. The courtyard walls are also creatively printed into vertical green walls and incorporated into green drip technology.

Shanghai Yingchuang Building Technique Co.,Ltd, president Ma Yihe said: We can make the whole wall vertical green wall. It can grow vegetable in the hollow place. You can plant trees, flowers or vegetables here. The key is this inside, after printing, using a technique called drip irrigation. Water drips from the top layer to the bottom, drips it down to this layer, then drops another layer, which saves 95% water. The water can be recycled and controlled, using your mobile phone to install an APP, which make it convenient that uses water at 8am and waters at 6pm.

It is worth noting that the building material of this house, which is also the printer's "ink", is mainly construction waste, industrial waste and mine tailings. Ma told reporters that the "ink" raw materials have solved two problems, one is the domestic large number of construction waste effectively reuse; The second is to ensure the hardness and strength of the material. In this way, you can effectively reduce the cost of construction by about 50%, and the human cost is %50 to 80%.

Shanghai Yingchuang Building Technique Co.,Ltd, president Ma Yihe said: You see, it's all a big stone. There are a lot of stones in the concrete. All sorts of stones don't change. It is good to be our main materials after the stone is damaged.

At present, his team has independently developed a 3D printer for on-board printers, on-site printers, high level printers and other specifications and win 129 patents. Their green buildings not only appear in Shanghai and Suzhou, but also in France, Germany, the united Arab emirates, Italy, Egypt and other countries.

Shanghai Yingchuang Building Technique Co.,Ltd, president Ma Yihe said: With the development of our technology, we will have the most advanced factory printers, which can be printed and shipped to the site. There is a car printer that can be delivered to the scene and a small house with two or three floors. There are large printers that can print house with dozens of meters high and hundreds of meters high.

So, Whether 3D printed buildings are safe? Ma said frankly that though they have achieved this technology, there is no national 3D printing architecture standard in China. Their buildings are still based on the standard and testing of existing buildings, so that the structure of the steel is preserved. Therefore, the security is indistinguishable from that of a common residence. Next, the private company will try to use 3D printing to print a 103-metre tall building. At present, relevant procedures are in process.
